About Daily Review Masterclass: Making Your Mark Drawing Workshop with Peter Wegner

Learn about the art of drawing and approaches to life drawing (clothed model) with Peter Wegner.


During this 4 hour practical and hands-on Masterclass, Peter Wegner will:
- Explore drawing from a life model - not in an anatomical way but in how the artist makes marks and develops their own language
- How to develop your own ways of seeing and how drawing can become part of your everyday expression
- Peter will show and talk about his own drawings and diaries and the methods and techniques he has developed during his 25 years exhibiting work 
- Examine how artists develop a series of works and to one particular motif 
- Refreshments, sketch pads and drawing materials are provided


This Masterclass will appeal to those with an interest and/or skills in drawing (and painting) and a desire to hone their skills with assistance from one of the leaders in the field.

Speaker Profile

Peter Wegner is a Melbourne figurative painter, sculptor whose work has been shown in numerous solo exhibitions in Sydney and Melbourne and in group shows at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra and the National Portrait Gallery in London.


Wegner’s awards include the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize in 2006 the Gallopoli Prize in 2013. His current solo show at Australian Galleries in Melbourne White on White is on until June 5.


His recent drawing projects have been exploring the human condition This has led to the development of a series of portraits of The Rates of Tobruk and another on people who have reach 100 years The Centenarian Project.


He has lectured in drawing at Ballarat, La Trobe, RMIT and Monash universities since 1996.
