Pint Club Set To Host Inaugural
Darwin Blues Rock Festival
The Darwin Pint Club will come alive with a monster multi-awarded lineup of blues musicians on Saturday October 19 for the inaugural Darwin Blues Rock Festival. The music begins at 4pm and finishes at 10:30pm.
The line-up features some of Australia’s top blues rock talent including Adelaide based New York Blues Hall of Fame guitarist Chris Finnen backed by legendary Sydney bass player Harry Brus, and Memphis Blues Challenge winner Fiona Boyes who will perform with her band from Melbourne.
International acclaimed blues-rocker 8 Ball Aitken will be showing off his signature 3-string cigar box and 6-string slide guitar skills with the launch of his new Swamp Blues 2 album.
Brisbane’s favourite New Orleans inspired organ maestro The Dillion James Band are making their Darwin debut and Northern Territories own saxophone guru (and former long-time member of Johnny Diesel & The Injectors), Bernie Bremond completes the lineup with his Lost And Found Band.
The final set of the night will be the all-star jam set where all the musicians improvise together trading licks and solos in the way that blues musicians do it best.
“It is exciting to have all this musical talent on stage together in Darwin playing blues rock. There will be some insane guitar playing and musical artistry, plus the incredible jam set to close the show. If you love getting down to music that is groovy, cool, and good for your soul, this festival will blow your mind,” says festival organizer 8 Ball Aitken.
