About Day-long Course: Prophetic Leadership
There was once a man who changed the world. He began with a handful of followers who were weak and persecuted in their land, continuing until he had united the Arabian peninsula. He challenged the Roman and Persian superpowers at the time and left behind a legacy of leaders that continued the expansion of the state until it stretched from India to Spain. He abolished racism and brought equality to men and women. He was a leader whose leadership, whose conquests and defeats, still inspire today, over a thousand years later.
The life of Muhammad peace be upon him shows us how to be better in all the hats that were wear in life, including being a leader. His life saw him begin as an orphan and ended with him having fulfilled the roles of a war general, politician and leader of a state. It almost seems impossible when we think about how much he accomplished within a span of 23 years. His journey and calibre of followers is a testimony to his timeless leadership skills that can be utilised by leaders of all types. Join us as we learn about:
- the true measure of leadership
- the leadership lens
- the types of people a leader attracts
- how a leader connects with people
- how a leader uses momentum
- and more
Abdullah bin Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah peace be upon him, said,
“All of you are shepherds and each of you is responsible for his flock. An imam is a shepherd and he is responsible for those in his care. A man is a shepherd in respect of his family and is responsible for those in his care. The woman is a shepherd in respect of her husband's house and is responsible for what is in her care. The servant is a shepherd in respect of his master's property and is responsible for what is in his care. All of you are shepherds and each of you is responsible for his flock.”
Indeed, the responsibility of being a leader is a responsibility we all hold.
