About Languages Alive!

Join us at the School of Languages on Wednesday the 18th of July and/or Thursday 19th of July for Languages Alive!
Our school will be holding workshops for children from Reception to Year 7, where they will discover a new language and culture!
Children will participate in 4 different workshops for each day. Why not book in for both days and enjoy all of the experiences on offer? Our workshops are all hands-on opportunities for children to delve into and enjoy exploring another language and culture for the day!
Wednesday 18th July: Children will learn:
• about the Eiffel tower and make a model
• the history and traditions of Maracas and how to make them
• how to play traditional Italian card games
• Chinese characters using ink and brush on rice paper
Thursday 19th July: Children will learn:
• the basics of Bollywood Dancing and the art of henna designs
• all about ninjas, make a ninja stress ball and participate in an action game
• how to play Korean drums and drink Korean tea
• the culture of dragons, their names and how to make a dragon and write the character
In addition to the various cultural activities, children will experience up to four different languages including Korean, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Hindi, and Japanese.
Our lunchtime program, (chosen at registration on the day), provides the children with the extra option of the basics of Karate, Taichi or Flamenco dancing
All children will receive a showbag of goodies and have a range of arts and crafts made over the day to take home.
Please note, all children will need to wear comfortable clothing, bring a bottled drink (water only), a snack and a packed lunch. There will be no catering facilities on site.
