About Music After Dark featuring Destination Moon and Andy Vance
Destination Moon - a swing trio born out of the love for the retro, chic, cool of 30s, 40s and 50s jazz.
With the conviction and dynamics of vocalist Jennifer Salisbury, the tenacity and experience of guitarist Sam O'halloran and the hard swinging virtuosity of whiz kid double bassist Hiroki Hoshino, Mornington Bowling club will be transformed into a 40's jazz club and a swinging 50's bar.
Andy Vance is one of Australia’s leading Jazz Pianists. He has worked as a soloist throughout Australia and has performed in a wide variety of ensembles and styles.
He is highly qualified with a Diploma of Jazz Studies, a Bachelor of Music and a Graduate Diploma in Improvisation. Andy is an experienced Tertiary Lecturer and is considered to be Australia’s leading Jazz Piano educator, having taught at the Victorian College of the Arts and the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts. He is a recording artist with ABC Records and Newmarket Music.
A prolific composer, Andy has made many recordings / CD’s of original music and traditional hymns in his own inimitable contemporary jazz style.
Seats will be allocated on the day; staff members in the venue will assist with any queries. Please note seating is on communal tables. Beverages are not included in the ticket price.
