About Mounted Police Station Tours - NSW Kids in Need Open House Fundraiser

For the first time, NSW Kids in Need Foundation have partnered with the Sydney Mounted Police Station for our World’s Largest Open House Fundraiser Event day.
Tours are taking place at 10am / 11am / 12noon / 1pm on Sunday 30th April. Each tour will take approximately 1 hour.
To gain access to one of the tours, tickets are essential. NSW Kids in Need requests a donation of $10pp over the age of 6yrs, but you decide whether you want to donate more per person.
Due to small group sizes on each tour, and expected popularity of this event, tickets number are restricted to 4 people per group.
The Mounted Police is the oldest continuous Mounted Police in the world being formed in 1825 and celebrating their 190th anniversary in 2015. NSW Mounted Police are a fully operational unit and operate 24 hours a day.
The tour will walk you through their onsite historical museum, followed by a walking tour of the Barracks which includes both stable blocks, observing the horses being exercised by our officer’s, meet the police horses, view the state of the art farrier’s room, vetting room and electronic walker, see our transportation vehicles and all of our saddlery.
Visitors are reminded that the tour involves being outside, please bring sunscreen and a hat. It is recommended to wear sensible flat non-slip, enclosed shoes.
You are also welcome to bring along an apple or a carrot to feed the horses!
There will also be NSW Kids in Need Volunteers at the event selling Raffle Tickets to our Super Raffle and collecting any additional donations. Your support is greatly appreciated, so please give generously.
Getting there:
Please note that there is no parking available at the Mounted Police Station itself, however may be available in surrounding streets.
By train: Redfern Train Station is the closest train station, being a 20min walk from the Mounted Police Station.
By bus: Buses run every 12 mins from Central Station, Eddy Ave, Stand C. Buses include: 373, 393, 395. Disembark bus at the end of Cleveland Street, before Crown Street. The venue is 140m from here.

After booking your ticket:
Once you have reserved your tickets they will be sent to you via email. Please check your inbox for another email from events@nswkidsinneed.org.au, requesting you to fill out a form for security purposes. This form must be sent back prior to the event.
