About One Tropical Day: Pete Murray, Boo Seeka, Ben Wright Smith, D Henry Fenton & Craig Phillips

ONE TROPICAL DAY returns to the spectacular setting which is Darwin Ski Club, set on magnificent Vesteys Beach. Enjoy a frosty beverage and watch the setting sun drop into the Arafura Sea through tropical palms as you enjoy some of the finest musicians this country has to offer.

PETE MURRAY Byron Bay singer-songwriter and one of Australia’s most loved musicians. Pete Murray has released his new single, Take Me Down, alongside the release of his sixth studio album, Camacho. Camacho is beat-driven and anthemic, Take Me Down cleverly reveals a new direction for Pete, yet still manages to feel like a catch up with an old friend - his smooth, familiar voice both warm and inviting. “Take me down is about a beautiful relationship with an unknown future,” insights Pete. “It’s about not knowing how much time is left and being in the moment. It’s emotive, moody, sexual and vulnerable.” With over one million album sales to his name, the quiet achiever of Australian music is pumped to hit the road and play his new tunes for fans across Australia, Pete enthuses, “I’ll be taking the full band on the road and heading to a stack of places I haven’t been to in a while. I’m also really excited about playing the new music for the first time and cannot wait to get out there and see the crowd’s reaction.”
Don’t miss Pete Murray as he showcases new tracks and old favourites on this epic 32-date national Camacho Tour, which is finishing up here in Darwin on September 9. So you know this will be one big party on and off the stage!

BOO SEEKA whose synths and beats keeps the energy sizzling like a neon sign on the Miami strip. The Sydney psych-soul project begun as an outlet for a couple of musical experiments, a testing ground for new sounds. Boo Seeka are influenced by the layerings and experimental beats of Major Lazer, the cool swagger of J-Dilla and The Seed 2.0’s Cody Chestnutt’s soulful vocal delivery. BOO SEEKA snaps up melodies and bounces them off driven grooves and beats that vibe, just perfect for ONE TROPICAL DAY !!

BEN WRIGHT SMITH is an Australian singer-songwriter and musician who has had an incredible year. He’s released his album, The Great Divorce, to much critical acclaim and has been hand picked to support Pete Murray on his massive 2017 Australian tour. Don’t miss this rising star this ONE TROPICAL DAY

D HENRY FENTON is a singer-songwriter from Sydney Australia who is based in Los Angeles, California. He has now released 3 solo albums as well as 2 singles and an EP with his first band Holly Golightly. D HENRY FENTON’s music blends Americana, folk, pop, and indie-rock, bringing to mind bands like Wilco, Neil Young, Crowded House and Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. He performs regularly in Southern California, either solo or with his band affectionately known as The Elizabethans, with Bass Player Mary Beth Kedzior and Dave Krusen who was Pearl Jam's original drummer (Ten).

CRAIG PHILLIPS from Toowoomba, Queensland has a unique strong voice and a strong rhythmic element to his guitar playing. Craig says his singing style has been inspired by the likes of Eddie Vedder and Kings of Leon, though there’s no denying the influence country music has had on his musicianship. A highlight of early 2017 was absolutely rocking the main stage at Chinchilla Melon Festival with Busby Marou and after a 4-month hiatus, he’s wandered his way into Darwin ready to play some music and have some fun.
