FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS FOR 2015:

As campfire smoke wafts its way across the valley, the celebration of a culture and history that is uniquely Australian begins when thousands of lovers of all things that celebrate Australia’s mountain bush heritage converge on Corryong for a great weekend of art, music, poetry, horse competition, entertainment, trade stalls, street parades, markets, camp oven cooking, historical machinery, ute muster, dog competitions... and fun! Lots of fun!

It’s the place to make new friends or catch up with old ones...

Thundering hoofs and stock whips wake the echo's across the foothills of the Snowy Mountains as the celebrations commence.  The Reenactment of Banjos famous poem, brings two well known names together being Banjo Paterson and Jack Riley. The tale of how they met and the result being the writing of the Man From Snowy River poem is now a part of local folklore as is the sad tale of Jacks’ death during the amazing ride by his mates to bring him back to medical help in Corryong.

Our various events at the Man from Snowy River Bush Festival will commemorate 100 years of WW1 ANZACs and the Upper Murray's contribution to the war effort.  Recognising the sacrifice of all those who have worn our nation’s uniform - past and present.  It will be a time to honour and reflect upon the service and sacrifice of all those who have worn our nation’s uniform - past and present.

From the dust busting action of the re-enactment of Banjo’s famous poem, the Rodeo, unique quality horsemanship or the side busting laughter at the Bush Poets or bending your elbow at the bar and having a dance with your best mate to the country rock bands ... there is something for everyone.

The Man From Snowy River Re‑enactment  Kicks off Friday's program in a cloud of dust and nail biting action, the rough terrain is indicative of the imagery represented in Banjo Paterson’s famous poem ‘The Man from Snowy River’.
