University of the Third Age City Courses 2017 Semester 2 

These courses are held at the State Library of Western Australia with the exception of the Lecture Series which are held in the meeting room at City Place nearby.

The courses are detailed below and in the brochure sent by email or (post) mailed to all members of U3A (UWA).


ART APPRECIATION 
The 2017 lecture series focuses on events and exhibitions in the Art Gallery of WA’s calendar and addresses a very wide range of artworks and art practices including craft and design. The six talks will be richly illustrated with photographic reproductions and will present works from a number of different historical eras. This is a continuation of seminar 1 course.  If you are already enrolled there is no need to re-enrol.

BOOSTING MOOD AND MIND - FOR SENIORS
This programme aims to provide people with information and tools in regard to what the research says contributes most to a meaningful and purposeful life. Elderhood can be a wonderful, rewarding time for many people, however it is also brings about its own unique challenges and changes. This programme has been designed to support participants in getting the most out of their older years.

FILM DISCUSSION

ISRAEL - ONE LAND TWO CLAIMS
“Israel:  One Land, Two Claims (or Three, or Four, or…)” We all know about the so-called “Arab-Israeli Conflict” but how did it all begin, what has influenced the unfolding histories, how do participants see the current situation and what might the future hold?  Where do the extremists both sides, the Arab-Israeli Citizens, intercultural families, Jewish “Doves” and typical families fit into the complex fabric of the Holy Land?
