Ukulele Technique - Play melodies, harmonies and learn to read music

You will learn:

- an understanding of music that applies to all instruments
- the notes on your ukulele
- to play melodies
- to play duets
- how to read ukulele tabs
- how to read sheet music
- scales
- chord shapes
- to use you ukulele to help you sing simple harmonies. 

The humble uke is capable of much more than strumming chords and this is a safe place to try new things.

Beginners: Tuesdays 6pm - 6:55pm (7 weeks)

Continuing: Tuesdays 7pm - 7:55pm (7 weeks) - must have completed Beginners previously.

Dates: 6 August - 17 September

Cost: $145 for 7 weeks (plus booking fee)

Please note:

Beginner students will be required to purchase Ukulele In The Classroom Book 1 ($22)

Continuing students will be required to purchase Ukulele In The Classroom Book 2 ($22)

Both will be supplied by Steph

Students need their own ukulele*, tuner, pencil, display book.

About the teacher:

Steph Payne runs several ukulele groups and choirs in Melbourne's West and has been teaching music for over 20 years. Steph's ukulele teaching is based on the James Hill Ukulele Initiative and she is also a member of the Australian Ukulele Teachers & Leaders Association, attending training days and trading teaching tips and resources with other teachers. The study never ends! Proudly, what is on offer to students is very different to everything else on the Melbourne uke scene. www.unstrungmusic.com.au

*Please note your ukulele does not have to be an expensive one but the cheap $30 ones are not adequate.

Our preferred tuning is GCEA with a LOW G string, though you can start with a standard high g.
