Melissa-Anne was born in Singapore Australian Army base hospital.
In late 1973 her family returned to Australia, and at the age of 18 Melissa left school and joined the Airforce.
This started a personal journey for Melissa-Anne that “anything is possible” - a motto that still motivates her to be the best she can, as a mother, wife, friend, at work and in life.
A double amputee, Melissa-Anne took up the sport of Para Archery after watching Para Archery at the Tokyo Paralympics. She is now rated number one in Australia in W1 para–Open Women class and Oceania titles.
This has seen her selected to represent Archery Australia Para team for World titles in July 2023 and Paris 24 Paralympics Olympics. She has committed to train and seek selection for the Los Angeles Paralympics 2028.
Melissa-Anne like a lot of women, is balancing work, being a wife, mother of children with her own dreams and aspirations.
Melissa-Anne’s belief is that we all are on our own journey, we have one life in which to find our ‘Why?
This is the very essence of her existence.
“My ‘Why’ is that I believe that ‘anything is possible’ if we are the best at all the things we do, say, and behave in a way that creates a positive change in the lives of others whoever they are, our children, partner, friends, work colleagues, clients and the community will all live in,” she says
