Twice a year, we offer an event to step beyond the vineyards and gardens at Caroline Hills, into the fascinating underground world that shapes our land. Join us for a guided Walk to the Waterhole, where geology, water, and history unfold beneath your feet. Meander along a 400-metre walkway lined with native trees and shrubs, propagated and planted by owners Terry and Helen. As you walk, Helen will share insights into the regeneration of the property and the vibrant ecosystem they’ve cultivated.
Enjoy a picnic lunch at the waterhole hut, take in the surroundings, and hear about what lies beneath the surface in this ever-evolving landscape. Settle in for a gourmet picnic lunch, paired with a choice of beer, wine, mocktail, or soft drink. With the fire crackling and the peaceful surroundings, you’ll have a chance to truly unwind. Learn the secrets of the underground aquifers, sinkholes, caves, and waterholes that define the unique geography of the Limestone Coast.
