On Thursday 12th November, British author, Colin Reid, will be launching his historical biography, ‘The Digger’s Diary’ at Melbourne’s Shrine of Remembrance. The book tells the remarkable story of how a bullet-pierced WW1 diary discovered on an English rubbish tip, became the catalyst for a personal journey of discovery to reveal the fate of its owner, Corporal Claude Nuttall MM of the 23rd Battalion AIF.

In a fascinating talk, Colin Reid will be describing the highs and lows of his decades long search for answers. It was a journey that took him from the English Midlands to the battlefields of France, and to Melbourne in search of Nuttall’s living relatives.

What he discovered was a forgotten war hero, and a compelling tale of faith, love and heroism.

There will be a Q and A session after the talk and Colin will be on hand to sign copies of his book.
