About Yoshi Japanese Cooking Classes

Yoshi's authentic 'home style' Japanese cooking classes are a must for anyone interested in learning traditional Japanese cuisine. With 20 years of experience in Japan as cooking teacher and dietician, Yoshi is excited to share her skills and knowledge with Brisbane. Each class offers a variety of skills so take a single class or the entire course. After learning how to cook authentic dishes, you also get to enjoy your delicious creations. All classes are $100 per person with a 10% discount offered on the full course. Places are limited to 12 students per class so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Class 1. Basic Japanese Meal  30/07/2019 6-9pm

Learn how to make Dashi, Gyozas and Udon all from scratch. Dashi is the corner-stone to many Japanese dishes and an important element to learn. Gyozas are everyone's favorite and made even tastier with hand made wrappers. Udon noodles simply taste better when homemade.

Class 2. O-Bento  07/08/2019 6-9pm

Japanese bento box (lunch box) are known worldwide and a fantastic way to provide a healthy and well balanced school/work meal. Learn how to create some bento favorites that will transform your lunch boxes. Kids will love the fun and variety and you'll love the nutrition.

Class 3  Vegetarian & Vegan 20/08/2019 6-9pm

Vegetables dishes are an important part of Japanese cuisine and served with every meal. Learn how to create some tasty vegetable treats and combine different Japanese techniques to create your own dishes.

Class 4  Miso 11/09/2019 6-9pm

Miso is made by fermenting soybeans, rice koji and salt over a few years to create a substance that is used every single day in Japanese life. Miso comes in several varieties and can be used in many ways. Learn how to use miso in soups to desserts.

Class 5  Sushi 24/09/2019 6-9pm

Japan's no 1 dish known all around the world and eaten everyday by millions of people. A sushi master will say that the rice is the most important element and therefore the most important element to learn. Once the rice is mastered, you'll learn how to make Temari, Nigiri & Rolled sushi
