Australian Commandos have served and continue to serve in hostile combat environments. Some unfortunately have lost their lives on operations, some have been permanently injured and far too many have taken their lives back here at home.
The Commando Welfare Trust (CWT) was established in July 2010 as a perpetual trust for the purpose of providing a qualifying person from Special Operations Command (SOCOMD) with financial relief when other organisations cannot provide such assistance.
Double Dagger Ride and Rock is a new charity event that commenced in Melbourne organised by a former 2 Commando Company 1 Commando Regiment member Neil King, in support of CWT. It consisted of a 1-day motorcycle ride, auction of donated items, raffles, rock bands, and a sausage sizzle run by the Hayden Butler Foundation who are an organisation dedicated and committed to having an active role in suicide prevention and awareness.
The Australian Commando Association NSW will emulate the Victorian event on 21 Nov 2020 and further assist Commando Welfare Trust.
