About Braben Jenner Hot Five with special guest Grace Rigby
The Jazz and Blues Collective Presents:
The Braben Jenner Hot Five with special guest vocalist Grace Rigby.
This is a one off special event John Braben (trumpet), Jo Bloomfield (keys), Peter Freeman (bass), Dave Burrows (guitar), Paul Williams (wind), with special guest vocalist Grace Rigby performing with the band for the first time. An enchanting, effervescent performer, Grace Rigby truly acts the songs she sings onstage. A former student of Irene Bartlett at Queensland Conservatorium, Grace graduated with a Bachelor of Musical Theatre, now plays saxophone and sings with the UQ BIG BAND. She'll capture your heart.
Look forward to an afternoon of RED HOT traditional and mainstream jazz with plenty of inventive improvisation. The band will be playing the music of early to mid-20th century America. Sidney Bechet, Johnny Dodds, Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton, King Oliver, Bix Beiderbecke, Fats Waller, Duke Ellington and other classic jazz greats all feature in a diversified mix of vocals and instrumentals.
A Coffee Van will be on site from 12.30.
We have a BYO drink licence. (No glass for drinking please) and you are welcome to bring your own food or nibbles.
Look forward to our first event in our 2022 calendar.
The Qld government advises that all patrons attending our event must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and will be asked to show proof of their vaccination on entry (or provide an authorised medical exemption).
