About Jazz + Blues Sundays @ the Old Soul | Art Deco Swing Band
‘Sway’ at the Jazz & Blues Collective.
Live sophisticated jazz will be reborn at the Jazz & Blues Collective’s Sunday 1st March performance with Joe Howman’s ‘Art Deco Swing Band’. They play every Thursday at the ‘Lounge Jazz Club’ Nundah; as residents this is their fourth year.
Featuring Nicky Steel on vocals who was lead vocalist with the Alan Brown Big Band for many years; she has a powerful voice and stage presence.
The show ‘Sway’ is a combination of vibrant Latin and Swing music of the 40’s & 50’s.
Art Deco Swing Band is a quintet from the 16-piece Art Deco Dance Orchestra led by trumpeter Joe Howman.
Joe say’s, “We take audiences back to the dance halls of the mid-twentieth century where guys and gals dressed in their best and sweat the evening away to blazing hot jazz”.
“The band will look very sharp, dressed for that time, it’s a joyride through the musical relics of a bygone era. Nicky Steel is dynamite, she knows how to knock the ball out of the park!”
Whether you feel the need to dance, or just relax and enjoy the music.
Look forward to an exciting afternoon of entertainment.
