About Budburst Macedon Ranges Wine Festival

BUDBURST WINE FESTIVAL | COOL WINES CLOSE TO HOME | 14-15 November

Once a year, the wineries of the Macedon Ranges Region come together to open their doors and showcase stunning cool climate wines, delicious local food and warm, country hospitality. Alongside the region’s established cellar doors, Budburst features producers not normally open to the public, small batch wines and special releases. This is a rare opportunity to discover something new and delicious, and all just an hour from Melbourne.

Over two festival days, in mid-November, 25+ wineries across 15+ Budburst venues will open their doors, offering visitors the chance to taste their wines, hear their stories and learn what makes the region so special. It’s then time to relax with a fantastic range of food and entertainment options, all set against a backdrop of the stunning Macedon Ranges scenery.

Budburst is accessible to all, family friendly and with easy access to the region via V-Line train services to Woodend Station where festival visitors can connect to designated Budburst Bus Routes. Alternatively, visitors can forge their own path using the Budburst Festival Passport as their guide.

Festival hours run from 10am to 5pm on both Saturday and Sunday, with tastings available of 80+ wines, curated food menus, live entertainment and the chance to chat directly with the winemakers at every stop.

At just under an hour from Melbourne, leave the city behind and discover one of Victoria’s most scenic wine regions.

Bus Pass:

Saturday bus routes will be operating a hop-on hop-off system with frequent buses allowing you to navigate between 5+ budburst sites with 7+ wineries per loop to discover at your own pace. Buses will be stopping at wineries every approximately every 20 min.

Sunday buses will run as set itineraries. This means you stay with your bus for the whole day, still allowing you to visit 5+ budburst sites with 7+ wineries per loop. You will have approximately 50 min to explore each of the winery sites on your bus loop.

IMPORTANT: You MUST be over 18yrs old to travel on a Budburst Bus.

Please note that bus tickets must be pre-purchased as ticket sales will close on 6th November at 11:00pm.
