The Silver Winds Ensemble features two of Australia’s award- winning flautists - Mark Underwood, who is touring Australia for several concerts and Sydney flautist James Fortune, together with celebrated Australian composer/pianist Margaret Brandman.  The sparkling gem of the concert is the world premiere of Margaret’s SILVER WINDS SUITE for solo flute, commissioned and performed by Mark Underwood together with Margaret on piano. In addition to music by Bach, Köhler, Poulenc, Tchaikovsky and Telemann, the programme will also feature several of Brandman’s melodic works from her Cosmic Wheel of the Zodiac cycle, and Latin-American works from her La Vida Apasionada suite, arranged especially for two flutes with piano. And to conclude the concert, the ensemble will perform Mark Underwood’s own engaging arrangement of Waltzing Matilda! 

Come along to enjoy a fabulous afternoon of music across a range of genres in the beautiful Grand Hall at Mosman Art Gallery. Doors open at 2pm for a 2.30 start. Coffee and tea and snacks will be available after the concert.
