Filmed over a period of six months on a smuggled smartphone by Kurdish-Iranian refugee Behrouz Boochani, Chauka, Please Tell Us the Time is a confronting glimpse into the lives of detainees inside the now closed Manus Island detention centre. The documentary takes its name from a tiny native bird and was also the name of a solitary confinement unit within the complex.
