About Talk: Song of the Crocodile — Nardi Simpson
Nardi Simpson is a Yuwaalaraay storyteller, musician and composer from NSW’s north-west freshwater plains. Her debut novel, Song of the Crocodile, won the Black&Write Fellowship (2018) and was shortlisted for the 2021 Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards, Indie Book Award and Stella Prize, and long-listed for the Miles Franklin. Nardi joins writer and Festival Director Dani Powell to discuss this powerful portrayal of a family living in a community on the outskirts of a small Australian town, reckoning with the impacts of dispossession, racism and poverty that ripple across four generations.
Audiences are advised that, due to travel restrictions, Nardi Simpson will appear via video link at this event.
