About Australia Cup 2024 Round of 32: Olympic FC Vs APIA Leichhardt FC
The Australia Cup, a prestigious football tournament held annually, stands as a cornerstone of Australian football history, encapsulating the nation’s passion for the beautiful game.
Established in 2014, it has evolved significantly over the years, mirroring the growth and development of football within the country.
Olympic FC has once again made the last 32 of the Australia Cup competition, playing against Apia Leichardt (Sydney) on Wednesday 7 August 2024 at Goodwin Park.
This will be Olympic’s fourth appearance in the round of 32 of the Australia Cup since its inception in 2014. We have also made the last 32 in 2018, 2019 and now in 2024. A tremendous achievement to match our Queensland NPL Grand Final appearances in 2013, 2014, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022. Making Olympic FC a powerhouse of Queensland football since the NPL competition was established in 2013.
The Australia Cup has enabled Olympic to showcase its players, facilities and culture to a national audience. Memorable cup performances included massive games against Melbourne Knights (2014 – Goodwin Park), Central Coast Mariners (2014 - QSAC) and Adelaide United (2019 – Perry Park).
The Australia Cup is more than just a football tournament; it is a celebration of the sport’s rich heritage and a testament to its enduring popularity in Australia. The tournament continues to inspire and captivate generations of football enthusiasts, ensuring its place as a cherished tradition in the hearts of Australian sports fans.
