About ONLINE EVENT: Translating Indonesia

Norman Erikson Pasaribu used to meet his boyfriend in a Jakarta carpark and was reminded of the early Christians going underground to pray. His debut poetry collection Sergius Seeks Bacchus (Giramondo, 2019) queers the Christian iconography of his Catholic faith. Tiffany Tsao is equal parts novelist and literary translator and translated Pasaribu’s collection from Indonesian to English. Join these two authors for an entirely irreducible conversation bridging the cultural divide between Indonesian books and Australian readers.

With: Norman Erikson Pasaribu, Tiffany Tsao Chair: Vannessa Hearman
