SUNSHINE COAST SCORCHERS AUST V NZ SPORTSMAN'S LUNCH

With Australia and New Zealand preparing to renew one of cricket’s great Trans-Tasman rivalries, we’re bringing together some outstanding names in Australian cricket for what promises to be one of the sporting events of the year on the Sunshine Coast.

Join us for an unforgettable afternoon with Australian cricket legend Glenn McGrath, former Australian Test captain Tim Paine, and our emcee, former professional cricketer and commentator Adam Crosthwaite.

Expect brilliant cricket stories, plenty of laughs, some very honest conversation, fantastic raffle prizes, premium auction items and an afternoon of great food, beverages and entertainment.

Quite simply, one of the greatest fast bowlers Australia — and world cricket — has ever seen.

McGrath represented Australia in 124 Test matches, taking 563 Test wickets, and added another 381 wickets from 250 One Day Internationals.

A cornerstone of one of the most dominant Australian teams in cricket history, Glenn was part of three World Cup-winning sides — 1999, 2003 and 2007 — and built his reputation on relentless accuracy, fierce competitiveness and an extraordinary ability to dismiss the world’s best batters.

But this afternoon isn’t just about the statistics, we want the stories behind them, the dressing room, the tours, the Ashes battles, World Cups, the personalities, the sledging, the rivalries and those moments that never made it onto television.

With Glenn on stage and the microphone in hand, we’re expecting plenty of stories and plenty of laughs.

Joining Glenn will be former Australian Test captain and wicketkeeper Tim Paine.

Tim represented Australia in 35 Test matches, 35 One Day Internationals and 12 T20 Internationals, and captained his country in 23 Tests.

Appointed Australia’s 46th Test captain in 2018, Tim took on one of the biggest leadership roles in Australian sport during a significant rebuilding period for the national team.

One of the defining achievements of his captaincy came in 2019, when Australia retained the Ashes in England — a memorable series that produced some extraordinary moments and stories.

Known as an outstanding wicketkeeper, fierce competitor and sharp cricket mind, Tim brings a very different perspective to the stage — from life behind the stumps to the pressure of captaining Australia at Test level.

And his involvement at the top level of the game continues today, with Tim currently Head Coach of the Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League.

With McGrath and Paine together on stage, there will be no shortage of opinions, stories and insight into what really happens inside an Australian dressing room.

Keeping the afternoon moving — and knowing exactly which questions to ask — will be our emcee Adam Crosthwaite.

A former professional wicketkeeper-batter who represented Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia, played for the Adelaide Strikers and has gone on to work in cricket media and commentary, Adam understands the game from the inside.

He knows cricket.

He knows the personalities.

And most importantly, he knows how to get a great story out of his guests.

Put Glenn McGrath, Tim Paine and Adam Crosthwaite together on the same stage and this promises to be a very entertaining afternoon.

There will also be fantastic raffle prizes, premium auction items and plenty happening throughout the afternoon, all while enjoying lunch and beverages at The Lakehouse.

Whether you’re a lifelong cricket tragic, entertaining clients, catching up with teammates or simply looking for a brilliant afternoon out, this is an event you won’t want to miss.

And our advice, don’t just buy a ticket — get the cricket crew together and grab a table of 10.
