About Vintage: Tamar 2020 | Swinging Gate Masterclass
It’s not often you have the chance to make your own bottle of Pinot Noir, but that’s what you’ll do at Swinging Gate with winemaker Douglas Cox. Learn the techniques involved in blending in the barrel and the winery, and take your own bottle home with you.
The cellar door backs onto the winery, once the old machinery shed but now repurposed and upcycled. A former nurseryman, Doug has single-handedly rejuvenated the vines since buying this long-standing vineyard. His approach to wine making combines a love and feel for the vine and the wine, innate blending knowhow, a warm welcome and a lot of fun.
A visit to Doug’s cellar door is never dull, and even vineyard dog Nellie occasionally gets roped into the wine making malarkey (although no creatures or wines are harmed in the process).
Please note, “the Journey” entry ticket to the Festival is mandatory in order to access the many experiences on offer, including ticketed masterclasses. Please purchase your entry ticket separately HERE.
