About Talk & Tea – Dancing for the Marquis
Talk & Tea – Dancing for the Marquis 3/9/19, 10.00am
Historian and writer, Dr Edith Ziegler will be speaking about her new book, Dancing for the Marquis.
This is a fictionalised version of the improbable but true story of an infamous 19th century immigration and the financial scandal of the Marquis de Rays, a narcissistic and deluded French nobleman.
The talk will be richly illustrated to enable you to follow in the footsteps of the intending settlers on their strange and heartbreaking journey. Their experience is part of Australia’s rich immigration narrative, also the story of our stoical rural pioneers.
One of Eryldene’s delicious morning teas will be served prior to the talk.
We can cater for gluten free, vegan and vegetarian.
