Free Event: Bicentenary Book Launch

The Fremantle Society is hosting a free event in the splendid Fremantle Town Hall to promote Western Australia’s Bicentenary, so sadly neglected to date by the State Government, with just a couple of years to go until 2029.

The audience will be asked to submit their ideas to be forwarded to government.

You must have a few ideas after 200 years?

The former governor of Western Australia Kim Beazley, whose father was the Member for Fremantle for 32 years, will speak.

He will launch the first major book done for Western Australia's Bicentenary – John Dowson’s Early Albany.

The Mayor of Fremantle will also speak about the Bicentenary. Doors open at 6pm and a welcome drink will be served.

At 6.30 pm guests are asked to be seated. Early Albany books can be purchased before or after the launch from 6pm ($75).
