These courses are held variously at the State Library of Western Australia, the upstairs meeting room at Citiplace nearby, and the Wanneroo Library.

The courses are detailed in the brochure sent by email or (Post) mail to all members of U3A (UWA).

22. LITERATURE
We welcome new members to join us this semester as we continue our lively discussions on looking at the following novels:
September 1: Moon Tiger - Penelope Lively (1980s). 
October 6: Wolf Hall - Hilary Mantel (2000s).

23. FILM DISCUSSION
Discussion about current films showing in Perth. Members share and compare views on the quality, direction, acting and story line of films which they have seen.

24. SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY DISCUSSION
The continuing discussion about the recent trends in Science & Technology from a popular perspective - eg: genetics, climate change, mobile phones. Each session will have a number of pre-prepared discussion items, led by a member of the group, as well as a general discussion on contemporary topics.

25. WHEN HISTORY MEETS FICTION
Drawing on his experience as a widely published novelist and literary critic, Ian Reid explores questions about the tension between fact and fiction in historical investigation. What options does an author have when evidence doesn’t tell us enough? This pair of lectures offers a fiction writer’s inside story of bringing the past back to life.

29. REWILDING THE WORLD AND OURSELVES
Rewilding the landscape means returning some of the plants and animals indigenous to a place to their home. But what does ‘rewilding’ ourselves mean? In this course we’ll look at a selection of authors who have thought about how developing intimacy with our wild, home places can help us bring a greater sense of meaning to our suburban lives.
