West Ryde Public School's oval is becoming an outdoor cinema!

Join us for an evening under the stars with a big-screen movie, freshly popped popcorn, BBQ, pizza, lollies, drinks, music and plenty of family fun.

Movie starts around 6.30pm — final start time will depend on sunset.

Come early, find your spot, enjoy some music and have a picnic dinner before the movie begins.

Tickets

Pre-purchase tickets online and save!

Every person attending must have a valid barcoded ticket, which will be scanned at the gate.

Children 3 years and under attend free, but must have a free infant ticket and be accompanied by a paying adult.

This is a private school community event for West Ryde Public School students and their families, including grandparents, cousins and other family members.

Food And Drinks

Skip the dinner rush and pre-order from Bondi Pizza Macquarie!

Pre-order whole pizzas from Bondi Pizza Macquarie with your tickets and have dinner sorted before the movie. Choose your pizza when purchasing your tickets and collect it on Movie Night.

Whole pizzas will not be available to purchase on the night. Pizza will instead be available by the slice from an alternate provider.

Our P&C food stalls will be open from 5.30pm, with:
- BBQ sausages
- Brisket rolls
- Pizza by the slice
- Freshly popped popcorn
- Lolly bags
- Soft drinks and water
- Kids Combos — popcorn or lolly bag, drink & glow stick

Families are also welcome to bring their own picnic food. Please be allergy aware, take your rubbish home and no alcohol or glass is permitted.

Food service operates from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

Find your spot

Bring your own picnic rug and pillows, or pre-order a Movie Bean Bag for the ultimate movie-night experience. Bean bags are limited and available by pre-order only.

Designated seating areas include:
- Picnic / Bean Bag Zone — towards the front
- BYO Chair Zone — towards the back and sides
- Existing School Benches — towards the back

Seating is first come, first served. There is no reserved seating.

Raised chairs must remain towards the back or sides so everyone can enjoy the screen.

Entry & Parking

Entry is via the Endeavour Street school gates only.

Limited street parking is available around the school. Please be considerate of our neighbours and, where possible, walk to the event.

General Safety & First Aid

Movie Night is a family event. All children 16 years and under must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult at all times. There is no teacher or school supervision.

A qualified first aid attendant will be on site during event times.

P&C Volunteers will be onsite throughout the event to assist with crowd control. There will be a P&C Volunteer on the entry/ exit gate at all times.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Can I drop my children off and pick them up later?

A: No. All children 16 years and under must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult throughout the event.

Q: Can I bring outdoor chairs?

A: Yes. Raised picnic chairs are permitted at the back or sides of the viewing area so they don’t obstruct the view of other families.

Q: Can I bring my own food?

A: Yes, families may bring their own food. Please be allergy aware, take your rubbish with you and don’t bring glass.

Q: Can I bring alcohol?

A: No. Alcohol is not permitted on school grounds. Glass is also not permitted.

Q: Are pets allowed?

A: No. Animals are not permitted on the event site.

Q: What if it rains?

A: If the event cannot proceed due to wet weather or high winds, it will be postponed to a future date in Term 3 or 4, 2026.

Q: Can I have a refund?

A: Tickets are non-refundable. If the event is postponed, all tickets will be honoured for the rescheduled date.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Ticket basic
- A valid barcoded ticket is required for entry and will be scanned at the gate.
- Tickets may be printed or displayed on a smartphone.
- No valid ticket, no entry.
- Child ticket is for ages 4-16 years
- Children aged 3 and under attend free but must have a free infant ticket.
- Early bird pricing is available until Thursday 3 September 2026.
- Entry is at your own risk. We reserve the right to refuse entry
- Child tickets can only be purchased with an adult ticket, or by an adult who has already purchased a ticket.

Wet Weather & High Winds

The weather forecast will be reviewed on Wednesday 2 September at 12.00pm. If conditions are forecast to make the event unsafe or unsuitable, the event may be postponed.

Ticket holders will be notified using the email address provided at booking.

If postponed, the event will be moved to a future date in Term 3 or 4 2026, and all tickets will be honoured for the new date. 

Cancellation and Refunds:
- Movie Night is a NO REFUND event
- If the event is postponed due to weather, tickets will be honoured for the rescheduled date.
- Refunds will not be provided for change of mind or inability to attend.
- No animals are permitted
- The event is SMOKE FREE
- We reserve the right to inspect bags and eskies on entry.
- Anyone who is intoxicated or behaves in an offensive, threatening or abusive manner may be required to leave immediately.
- In an emergency, all attendees must follow instructions from event officials
