About 30th Illawarra Autumn Jazzfest

We are aiming for a bigger and better festival in 2016, and the best thing about our Jazzfest is that it’s held at the end of April / first weekend in May which allows us to take advantage of a lovely Autumn weekend.

We aspire to create a really social feel to our festival where locals, musicians and music lovers can gather to share a common love of jazz music.

The Corrimal Hotel will be filled with varying styles of jazz music, trad, dixieland, latin, swing, rhythm and blues plus the music of the roaring 20s. Two and a half days of jam packed fun and above all else, excellent music.

As a tempter, we have included a list of some of this year’s bands:

The Giants of Jazz with Little Pattie – Greg Poppleton and the Bakelite Broadcasters - The Escalators - Lemon Squeezin’ Daddies with Pearlnoire - Lionel Robinson Quartet - Spyglass Gypsies - Ella’s Holiday - Marie Wilson Quartet - Peter Locke’s Nat King Cole Trio – Jugalug String Band - Hot Potato, Wollongong Conservatorium’s Latin Jazz Ensemble, the Wollongong Conservatorium Jazz Orchestra and many more to come plus local favourites.

On Sunday, 1st May, we will host a Jazz & Gospel Breakfast at Corrimal Hotel (band and price to be confirmed).

So why not come to Wollongong for the weekend. If you are coming from Sydney you can take the scenic route and head on down via the Seacliff Bridge……stay in the “Gong” and enjoy our heavenly beaches, fine food and the best jazz music we can offer.
