About Workshop. Nature town: Writing the Local Landscape - Meg Mooney & Nicole Gill
What many of us love about living in Alice Springs is how the natural and urban worlds intersect. Walking, riding your bike or even driving, you spot a huge golden orb spider web, a mob of tiny blue butterflies under a mulga tree, a procession of caterpillars crossing the road.
What is nature writing and how does it overlap with science writing? Is writing about urban areas nature writing?
Bring your laptops and digital cameras/smartphones for a workshop where you get to explore the botanic gardens and write in situ. Upload your writing on the ecology of Alice to a free blog.
With Alice Springs natural scientist and poet Meg Mooney and Tasmanian environmental writer Nicole Gill.
Level: General (young people 14+ also welcome)
