Respected Wandandi Elder and Cultural Custodian Sandra Hill presents the background to the Noongar Six Seasons and the way that the seasons influence Aboriginal culture, reilience and conservation and land management which included the use of fire.

The session involves a near-by site visit to the Brooklands Balingup Community to look at preparations for cultural burning, fire mitigation and addressing drought (free bus transort provided).

EVENT NOTES:

In lined with WA Government policy and guidelines (22 June 2022), the event organisers are committed to making this an enjoyable, vibrant and safe event.

The event observes baseline public health and social measures that remain in place across the State to help safely manage COVID-19 in the community and keep Western Australians safe.

As a result, provisions have been made for this event to be in line with these baseline measure and include:
- provision for appropriate cleaning regimes to be in place and adhered to,
- maintaining and promoting hygiene and disinfection practices throughout the event,
- informing people who are unwell not to attend/remain at the event,
- observation of physical distancing with seating numbers,
- encouraging the use of masks when not eating and drinking, and
- staff/volunteers are informed and trained to implement public health measures
