About SEAS THE DAY

Building off our highly successful events Real Body Runway and Leading Ladies and community projects Fabulous Faces and Fabulous Figures, The Just Saying Project (JSP) has embarked on Seas the Day, a digital photography exhibition and book launch event to promote mental health awareness in the Mackay community.

Join us on October 16 for a gala evening which will feature the photographs and stories of more than 100 Mackay women and men, from 11 photographers in the region.

The evening will feature inspiring speakers and their stories, along with performances from some of Mackay’s up and coming singers and songwriters.

Included in your ticket is canapés, a few JSP surprises and an evening to give back to the community and help support future projects for JSP for the Greater Mackay region.

This event is raising awareness for mental health and body positivity in the Mackay community and sales from tickets will go back into JSP for a further print runs of the book and future projects along with mental health services in the community.

The Just Saying Project is an inspirational approach to helping women build the confidence to truly love who they are. It’s an ever-growing, community-driven dialogue, to find and share connections within our true beings.

Founded in 2015 by Fallon Drewett, after she resigned from her job as a newspaper journalist to be a full-time mum. Before she knew it, Fallon had turned her humble JSP blog into a community for women to celebrate and connect with who they are.

Recently JSP created Real Body Runway which was a sell out and in the past four years JSP has sold out of each event.

Whether it’s through photographic exhibitions, panel and speaker sessions, interactive workshops and even a real-body runway, each project and event promote honest and uplifting conversations.

The positive feedback from the women who attended our events or have been part of our community projects has been overwhelming, it changes lives and has helped guide us in being a useful, relevant platform for women to explore and love who they are.

This year we will open our JSP platform to men in the community through our Seas the Day project for mental health awareness in the Mackay community.
