Kia Ora! You’re warmly invited to attend Newcastle Chamber Choir in concert and enjoy the choir’s most ambitious repertoire collated to date!
The World Choir Games is the largest global choral festival and competition. The Games are based on Olympic ideals, drawing choirs from around the world to compete for the highest accolade in choral music. This year the Games are being held in Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand. Newcastle Chamber Choir’s goal has been to win a national competition to qualify for the 2024 games. In 2023 we achieved this goal, becoming the Australasian Choral Champions as winners of the Sydney Eisteddfod, thus qualifying us to compete in the champion’s category at this year’s World Choir Games! We strive to proudly represent Australia and expose the international community to Australian culture, Australian composers and Australian Choral music at an elite level.
Newcastle Chamber Choir’s World Choir Games Concert will showcase our performance repertoire for our beloved home crowd, in one of the best concert halls in the region.
Doors open at 7:00pm for 7:30pm start.
