About December: The Lonesome Dannies / Lisa Richards / Tom Redwood

The Lonesome Dannies

The Lonesome Dannys

The Lonesome Dannies traverse musical and geographical landscapes, bringing members of South Australia's divine duo The Yearlings, and Victoria's Americana stalwarts The Stetson Family and Tracy McNeil & the Goodlife together. Chris, Robyn, Nad and Bree fuse their originals and sprinkle the set with some desert island songs by their favourite artists.

Lisa Richards

 Lisa Richards

With a voice described as both ferocious and sweet and a percussive guitar style, Lisa Richards writes songs of longing, loss, love and hope, borrowing from the traditions of folk, blues and jazz while carving out her own musical corner of the world.

Her music is driven by a desire to be visible, to understand the world, the human condition and to share what she sees with others. Lisa's songs have appeared on compilations, sharing the track list with heavyweights including Adele, Nina Simone and Corinne Bailey Rae.

Her most recent CD, “A Light from the Other Side,” (her 6th album) is her first ‘Australian-made’ release. Lisa teamed up with Greg J Walker (Paul Kelly, Jess Ribiero, and C.W. Stoneking), who recorded and produced the CD.

The song "Water" was added to National rotation on ABC Radio and played on community radio.

"a tour de force of unflinching and honest writing".

Tom Redwood

 Tom Redwood

Tom Redwood is a songwriter from Adelaide, now living in Melbourne. Tom has released three albums and one EP. His albums Look! and Cold Mother Night and the EP Mexican Food are released on the independent South Australian label Walking Bird. Tom's solo work is not widely known (Tom is a bit of a hermit), but it has received high praise from Australian songwriters including Mick Thomas, Charles Jenkins and Ben Salter. His new album "THE GLUE" has been produced by legendary guitarist Matt Walker (Lost Ragas, Tex Perkins, Archie Roach) and will be released extraordinarily soon.

A rare and brilliant treat for the ears.'  - Charles Jenkins

"The songs grab you immediately. And Redwood is so damn eloquent and enigmatic with his lyrics that the mental places he conjures will have you moved." Five Stars. I-94 Bar
