About The Yearlings / Brett Littlefair

The Yearlings

Two guitars, two voices.
Quiet, intimate, raw and powerful, producing a new strain of acoustic music, distilling Americana through the filter of distinctly Australian life.

With an incredible back catalogue of albums, and nice years since their last - ‘All The Wandering’, The Yearlings are thrilled to announce their brand-new and much-awaited album LUCK.
LUCK was recorded live to tape in just a couple of days in the Australian winter of 2022. Robyn Chalklen and Chris Parkinson joined forces with long-time friend & collaborator Lucie Thorne as producer for the project, and together with Hamish Stuart (drums) and James Haselwood (bass) LUCK sprang to life with energy and ease.

A rich, warm and shimmering sonic journey of great songs by great players, LUCK was tracked live to tape by The Yearlings’ longstanding recording compadre Mick Wordley at Mixmasters in South Australia, and completed by the nuanced mixing wizardry of Chris Shaw (Bob Dylan, Sheryl Crow, etc etc) in Austin, Texas.

LUCK is a tender and wild 40 minute ride that covers some serious ground. Come to this special Stone Pony show and be treated to a rich and wonderful music experience.

“richly detailed songs delivered with maximum emotional effect.”

Brett Littlefair

Brett Littlefair’s trajectory has been a steep, upward one. His first album in 2020, featured the song Where’ve You Been. The video for the catchy song racked up over 2 million Facebook Watch views over 12 months. A video release from the latest album, Toetappin’, hit 1 million Facebook Watch views in just 4 weeks.

The second album Footstompin’ won the Blues Album Of The Year 2022 award with the Adelaide Roots and Blues Association and kept a place in the Australian Blues and Roots Airplay Charts for seven months.

Toetappin’, is set to win even more hearts with Steve Jones from Blues Blast Magazine USA saying this about the album’s opening song, “Laying down a nice guitar groove and blowing some mean harp, Littlefair grabs the listener and makes them pay attention.
