About WA Hot Rod & Street Machine Spectacular

WA Hot Rod Promotions Inc. (WAHRP) is a volunteer-based organisation that plans, organises and delivers Western Australia’s premier indoor custom car and motorcycle exhibition under the banner of the WA Hot Rod & Street Machine Spectacular.

The longevity of the WA Hot Rod & Street Machine Spectacular is a testament to the efforts of WAHRP and the West Australian custom car and motorcycle community with the first Spectacular opening to the WA public in October 1997 at the Claremont Showground.

In the following decades WAHRP and the Spectacular has grown from its original hot rodding roots to be inclusive of all types of auto enthusiasts with street machines, competition vehicles, motorcycles, demonstration vehicles and the automotive industry representation panning fabricators, painters, upholsterers, engineers, journalists, photographers, component manufacturers and suppliers.

WAHRP volunteers receive no personal financial recognition for their efforts, indeed they insist that a wide range of charities benefit from the proceeds of each show.  Princess Margaret Hospital, the Autism Association of Western Australia, Ronald McDonald House and the SAS Unit Trust are just a few of the major organisations chosen by the committee over the years as worthy of donation and support.  The charity selected for WAHRP’s support in 2022 is Care Bags ‘because children in care matter’.

As the Spectacular continues to grow, patrons can expect innovation and entertainment, inspiration and engineering excellence as they enter the gates to the show.  Just wait until you see what the committee has planned for this year’s event.
