About Book Launch: Mookanunganuk by Kathy Mills
Join prominent Indigenous elder, Kathy Mills for the launch of her heart-filled debut collection Mookanunganuk (Batchelor Institute Press, 2020). A Kungarakan word, Mookanunganuk embodies notions of regeneration, rebirth and the cycle of life as encapsulated by the waterlily, from its roots right through to its flower, and the land, water and air from which it grows. These poems relate stories of power and survival and embody the decades Mills has spent campaigning for Indigenous rights. Today the breadth of her poetry comes to life through her impassioned recital and storytelling.
